As weather turns colder, stink bugs go inside

Cliff Duple, president of As Good As Dead Pest Control Inc. in Villa Park, said he has fielded about 30 calls in the past two weeks from homeowners who hope he can solve their stink bug problem.

“Unfortunately … there’s not a lot we can do,” he said, explaining there isn’t an effective pesticide that will keep others away after killing the ones in a home.

“You’re much better off using a shop vac,” Duple said. And “caulk, caulk, caulk” the outside of windows and doors because “they’re here to stay.”
